FACE THE FUTURE. Superstar writer Jonathan Hickman (SECRET WARS, AVENGERS, FANTASTIC FOUR) takes the reins of the X-Men universe! Since the release of Uncanny X-Men #1, there have been four seminal moments in the history of the X-Men. Giant-Sized X-Men. X-Men. Age of Apocalypse. New X-Men. Four iconic series that introduced a new era for Marvel’s mutants and revolutionized the X-Men. In House of X, Charles Xavier reveals his master plan for mutantkind…one that will bring mutants out of the shadow of mankind and into the light once more.

Marvel Comics

Hickman’s X-Men feels like an instant classic from the very first issue. More than that his story feels like it was a natural progression of the Mutant race and that he has been working his way to this comic series for years. All that along with the vibrant, creative, surrealistic view of Pepe Larraz and you get House of X.

A masterpiece like no other this year that will not only make an awesome addition to your comic collection but is certainly going to make a dent in the Marvel Universe. X-Men are here to stay and this time, not as victims of human prosecution. Hickman is “painting” them as Gods!

The Immortal Hulk

The Immortal Hulk

Writer: Al Ewing
Artist: Joe Bennett
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Release Date: June 6, 2018
Cover Price: $4.99

You’d never notice the man. He doesn’t like to be noticed. He’s quiet. Calm. Never complains. If someone were to walk up and shoot him in the head… all he’d do is die.
Until night falls. And someone else gets up again.
The man’s name is Banner.
The horror is THE IMMORTAL HULK.

We’ve all been used seeing the Hulk as a superhero in an action-based comic storyline and sometimes accompanied with some humor thrown in the mix but never before we’ve seen him in anything like this.

The “Immortal Hulk” is a great twist on one of Marvel’s oldest characters. The creative team is showing everything we already knew about the Hulk but from a different angle. Horror, fear, and anger are at the center of our story.

HAWKEYE (KATE BISHOP). HAWKEYE (CLINT BARTON). A guy named FUSE. Never have they ever been called “the big three” of…anything. And now here they are, reunited for, okay, well, it’s only the second time ever. Thank god they also brought AMERICA CHAVEZ, GWENPOOL and KID OMEGA. Wait. What? That’s right, it’s the new West Coast Avengers, son. And you better hope they can figure out how to save the world because BIG things are headed for the West Coast.

West Coast Avengers is a can’t miss and rightfully gained a position in this list. Comedy, danger, and adventure all in one created by a team that has seriously hit it out of the park.

Keep in mind that this is far from a cosmic disaster comic series with all the seriousness that follows the Avengers. This is a comic that throughout all the adventures it provides laughter and easiness yet it contains an A-Level team with bizarre abilities.

Can’t recommend it enough.

In a country that no longer trust Cap for the hero, he has been all these years we follow this story created by Coates following Captain’s tarnished status after the Secret Empire arc.

Of course, this would not have been a Captain America comic if not for the fight for beliefs and justice. The creative team behind Captain America knows this and created something that Cap’s fans already consider a must-read and is at the top of their list.

Give it a go and you won’t be disappointed.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2019)

Writer: Tom Taylor

Cover Price: $4.99

Spider-Man is the worst neighbor EVER! There are always crazy villains and property damage and drama and…and he CATCHES the villains. And he tries to fix the damage and he helps carry your groceries and actually that property damage keeps the rents down. You know what? Spider-Man is the best neighbor ever and this book will give you a closer look at Spider-Man’s (and Peter Parker’s) neighborhood than any book ever. Also, it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man adventure without a threat that could destroy not only Spider-Man, but all his neighbors. Superstar writer TOM TAYLOR (X-MEN RED, ALL-NEW WOLVERINE, Injustice) and rising art star JUANN CABAL (ALL-NEW WOLVERINE, X-23) give you the most local Spider-Man ever!

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has the potential to be one of the greatest Spider-Man comics for a while now and Tom Taylor is creating a path for us to get to know Peter Parker better than we ever got the chance before.

The story is separated into two sections with one being lighter and with a more positive artistic tone while the second has darker more gloomy with an ending that will keep you stunt for a while.

Definitely one for the pull list.

Avengers (2018)

Avengers 2018

Writer: Jason Aaron

Who will answer the call to assemble for a wild new era of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes? Hint: one of them has a flaming skull for a head. And what strange, world-shaking connection exists between the Final Host and Odin’s ancient band of Prehistoric Avengers?

The new Avengers is a masterpiece created by nonother than Jason Aaron. Using his signature move of “time travel” we get to see a totally different and bizarre team of Avengers (quite a bit back I have to admit).

On the other hand, we have the big trio reunited but with some massive doubts. Coma Stark, Hydra Steve, and Unworthy Thor are setting up to create the new Avengers just in time to save the world from the Celestials.
