Little to nothing has yet to be announced for the character O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid's Tale) is portraying in the upcoming Marvel movie, "Black Widow", Mason. Theories seem to suggest that this might be an entirely new character in the MCU created specifically for this movie.
Trying to connect the dots from the Marvel Comics to the Marvel Cinematic Universe we believe that O-T might be portraying Mason a character simply called "The Agent" in the Marvel Comics.
First appeared in the Marvel Graphic Novel #57 back in 1990, Mason was the son of Phineas Mason and Deborah Watts Mason. Having grown in an environment of advanced technology due to his father being the famous criminal inventor, Tinkerer, Rick Mason grew up to become a mercenary specialized in handling superhumans in a non-lethal way.
Rick Mason was a freelancer with huge expertise built not only from his father but from training alongside Nick Fury, Alexi Vazhin and Sir Denis Nayland making his one of the best-trained convert operatives only found online with the name "The Agent".
Mason fought off renegade members of China Force which were trying to undermine the British government in Hong Kong and similarly in South America. He was then forced to kill Teng Yun-Suan, one of his oldest mentors for being responsible for these attempted coups.
Unfortunately "The Corporation" a criminal organization, took Mason hostage in an attempt to force Tinkerrer, Mason's father, to work for them exclusively. Mason managed to escape only to find that his father had sent Luke Cage and Dakota North to rescue him and together they defeated "The Corporation".
Unfortunately, later Rick Mason was assassinated by an unnamed super-villain and his identity as "The Agent" became public knowledge.
Marvel Black Widow Movie Cast & Details
Black Widow is an upcoming film, set to be released on May 1, 2020, produced by Marvel Studio, based on a Marvel comic character with the same name. The movie is directed by Cate Shortland and written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson.
Production began this May on Norway and is expected to last till September making this the twenty-fourth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While the main heroine of the movie will be portrayed by the same actress that played the character in the previous Marvel movies, Scarlett Johansson, there are plenty of new faces joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe by playing a big role in the Black Widow movie.
Among the cast of the Black Widow movie, is David Harbour who portrayed Jim Hooper at science fiction horror series Stranger Things, now as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian a Russian counterpart to Captain America who has a history in the comics with the Black Widow.
Florence Pugh the award-winning English actress from Lady Macbeth is set to portray Yelena Belova, a post-Soviet Russian spy, and a once foe, now an ally of Romanoff.
Rachel Weisz a multi-award winning actress (who also played a role in the Constantine movie which is based on a DC Character) will now play the role of Melina. A spy trained in the Red Room who has been involved in some sort of an experiment.
Black Widow Movie Storyline
If you are wondering how this is possible since the death scene of Romanoff in the Avengers: Endgame seemed pretty damn permanent well there is a possible answer to that.
Reports have the movie being filmed as a prequel set before the events of Iron Man 2, which was the introduction of Natasha Romanoff on the MCU.
Since the announcement of the movie at the SDCC from Marvel, theories for the story have been populating online but most of them seem to have no real citation from a reliable source for us to write them here.
But stay tuned for more news about the upcoming Black Widow movie.
Marvel Phase 4 Full Timeline
It's been an eventful few days with Marvel stealing the show at SDCC by announcing the upcoming Phase 4 and the timeline for their upcoming movies and TV series.

Black Widow - May 1, 2020
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier - Fall, 2020
Eternals - November 6, 2020

Thor Love and Thunder - November 5, 2021
Black Widow - May 1, 2020
We all know and love Black Widow and it's a damn time that Marvel decided to create a movie for the character. Actually, this is not the first time a movie for Black Widow has been in production. First attempt was way back in 2004 by Lionsgate which unfortunately failed and the film rights reverted back to Marvel Studios back in 2006.
Filming for "Black Widow" has begun in May 2019 and the production is expected to last until September and set to be released on May 1, 2020, starring Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O.T. Fagbenle and Rachel Weisz.
We have been following Anthony Mackie aka Sam Wilson aka The Falcon and Sebastian Stan aka Bucky, The Winter Soldier for a while now but the announcement in SDCC brought in the surface our past excitement.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was officially announced in April 2019 but it has been a long time since both of the actors expressed their interest in starring in a series together. In May it was announced that the series will consist of six episodes directed by Kari Skogland while Emily VanCamp and Daniel Brühl will reprise their character Captain Marvel and Baron Helmut Zemo.
Probably one of the greatest announcements on the SDCC and the one that came as a shock to a lot of people is the announcement of the Eternals, and might you this has been the first time a lot of people have heard of them.
The Eternals is the creation of the Celestials. They live longer, they are super strong and they live among us and in the upcoming movie it seems that Angelina Jolie is one of them.
Directed by Chloé Zhao (The Rider) and starring Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, and Brian Tyree Henry the Eternals is set to hit our big screens on November 6, 2020.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - February 12, 2021
Shang-Chi is the third movie in Marvel's Phase 4 but also the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an Asian descent lead, Simu Liu.
Simu Liu, a newcomer to the MCU, will join the franchise as Shang-Chi a Kung Fu master fighting against an enemy that we saw years before in Iron Man, the Ten Rings when they collaborated with Obadiah Stane to kidnap Tony Stark.
The movie is set to launch on February 12, 2021, in the US.
Loki - Spring, 2021
If you thought that Loki was done due to his apparent death in Avengers: Endgame then fear not because our favorite God of mischief is right here to make us love to hate him once more.
We first heard about the production of Loki, a limited series by Marvel Studios for Disney+, starring Tom Hiddleston back in September 2018 and only few days ago in SDCC Kevin Feige, executive producer of the upcoming show, announced that the show is scheduled to debut in Spring 2021 and gave us a hint of the story that the show is going to explore.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness - May 7, 2021
We are used in a fun and joyful Doctor Strange in the MCU but for those of us that are Doctor Strange fans due to the comics then we know very well that they usually turn psychedelic and for most of us that is what we are looking in them. Fighting enemies that the rest of the superheroes can't even see or comprehend in dimensions parallel to ours where everything you can think off exist, it doesn't or should sound like a walk in the park.
This is what Scott Derrickson wants to bring in the Doctor Strange movie franchise. So expect a little bit of dark, goth and horror from this one.
WandaVision - Spring 2021
WandaVision is a TV Series that will launch on Disney+ featuring everyone favorite couple from the Avengers movies. Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her character as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch while Paul Bettany will play his role as Vision and most recent news from the SDCC say that Teyonah Parris will play the role of Monica Rambeau.
The series is set to launch sometime in the Spring of 2021.
What If...? - Summer 2021
A few months back, on March 2019, we learned that Marvel Studios is developing an animated tv series based on the famous comics series of the same name What If...? which the first season was going to launch on the first year of Disney+. Most recent news from the SDCC 2019 set the launch date somewhere in Summer of 2021.
Kevin Feige, the executive producer of the upcoming series, provided many details regarding the series cast and story which is going to explore many key moments of the MCU. The first episode is going to focus on the question "What if Peggy Carter took the serum instead of Steve Rogers?".
Jeffrey Wright as The Watcher
Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger
Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes
Josh Brolin as Thanos
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner
Tom Hiddleston as Loki
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter
Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa
Laren Gillan as Nebula
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton
Paul Rudd as Scott Lang
Michael Douglas as Hank Pym
Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan
Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark
Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri
Natalie Portman as Jane Foster
David Dastmalchian as Kurt
Stanley Tucci as Abraham Erskine
Taika Waititi as Korg
Toby Jones as Arnim Zola
Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer
Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster
Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta
Chris Sullivan as Taserface
Hawkeye - Fall 2021
Another great TV Series announced on SDCC making a lot of his fans jump up and down. Hawkeye will explore the story of Clint Barton during the Ronin years as well as feature the marvelous Kate Bishop.
Jeremy Renner mentioned during SDCC "What I get to do is shepherd a new character to be ultimately a better version of me. I get to teach someone else how to be a superhero without superpowers--which is an amazing thing because that means everyone can be a dang superhero, right?"
The logo also tells a lot about what's to come since it resembles that of Matt Fraction's story of Hawkey. 4
Thor Love and Thunder - November 5, 2021
One of the most exciting news from SDCC is Thor: Love and Thunder coming to the big screens on November 5, 2021 making it the last one on our list. With the new Thor announcement came a plethora of great news when we learned that Taika Waititi will return as director and writer of the film.
Along with Waititi, Natalie Portman joined the SDCC stage as the new female Thor, and between us, we can't think of anyone else better for the role.
The most recent announcement from Chris Hemsworth has the new Thor movie to be filmed in Sydney, Australia.
Tom King to co-write Kirby's "New Gods" Movie
Tom King, the acclaimed comic writer of "Batman" and "Mister Miracle" will be the co-writer of Kirby's "New Gods" alongside with award-winning Ava DuVernay.
The announcement came via a tweet from Ava DuVernay herself.
The "New Gods" story revolves around the intergalactic war between two planets. New Genesis, ruled by the Highfather and Apokolips ruled by Darkseid who is the ultimate DC boss and looking for the anti-life equation in order to remove free will from the universe.
The legendary Jack Kirby created the "New Gods" epic mythology in the '70s which contains a plethora of amazing characters and stories. Thankfully, Tom King is far from new to this world since he recently won an award on his acclaimed run on Kirby's Mister Miracle!
Five issues later, now Bitter Root has been optioned for a live-actioned movie after having their movie rights bought from Legendary as Deadline reports.
The series creators, David F. Walker, Sanford Greene and Chuck Brown will be executive producers along side with Sean Owolo while Jon Silk and Disney Hall will oversee the entire project.
“[With Bitter Root, we're] mixing action and horror, with a cast of characters unique to the medium to tell an epic tale of the Sangerye family, and the sacrifices they are willing to make for humanity," said Walker.
Everything you should know about "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" Movie
You could say there’s a bit of Spider-Man fever in the air. After the cinematic fall from grace that was Spider-Man 3 and the two Amazing Spider-Man movies, the character came back in a big way with his MCU cameo in Captain America: Civil War. Later, Spider-Man: Homecoming was a hit, and ol’ Spidey ended up being one of the best parts of Avengers: Infinity War.
Fans are hoping to see more Spidey in Avengers: Endgame and his solo sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home. However, you don’t need to wait that long for cinematic Spider-Man, as Into the Spider-Verse is here! This is a tale of dimension-hopping Spider-Men (and women) teaming up to save the day.
Cool idea, huh? It didn’t come out of nowhere; in fact, the movie builds on several characters and stories of the last decade. If you’re ready to do your Spider-homework, we’ve put together a definitive guide for what to read before seeing the movie!
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, Volume 1
If you don’t know, Into the Spider-Verse very prominently stars a different kind of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This character has been gaining intense popularity for many years now; if you want to catch up, then pick up volume one of Ultimate Comics Spider-Man.
This comic explains how Miles gets his powers and why he feels responsible for taking over as Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker. It takes place in the separate Ultimates universe, but the character is so popular that he was eventually merged into the proper 616 universe.
Most of the recommendations on this list are to help you learn more about these different characters. However, Edge of the Spider-Verse is a bit different: these comics help introduce you to the entire concept of a “Spider-verse.” And while the movie will certainly have many differences from the comic, these issues help put things in perspective.
If nothing else, these issues give you a peek at several different kinds of Spider-Man. Some are returning characters, such as the Spidey from Spider-Man Noir. Others are brand new, including Spider-Gwen. Consider these issues your “Cliffs Notes” regarding this entire universe and its characters!
In many ways, the whole Spider-Verse thing was an experiment to see if any of these characters would be popular enough to warrant a new series. And one character clawed her way to the top: right away! Spider-Gwen now has a solo series, and if you pick up Volume 1, you can see how it gets started.
The idea is pretty simple: in her universe, it’s Gwen Stacey that gets fabulous Spidey powers. And Peter Parker? He becomes a kind of monster that she feels responsible for creating. Ultimately, this is a fun comic that returns the Spideyverse back to its familiar roots while adding some really fun twists and turns.
Even before the Spider-Verse thing, Spidey has had many weird forms. Remember when he was swinging around with a bunch of extra arms? However, many fans agree that the weirdest it ever got was with Peter Porker, also known as Spider-Ham. And this character pops up in the Spider-Verse movie!
If you want to learn more about this strange creature, then you should pick up the Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham trade paperback. If you have a weird sense of humor, these stories are right up your alley. Where else will you find a protagonist who started out as a spider and was bitten by an irradiated pig?
In the Into the Spider-Verse movie, a large part of the fun is watching Miles Morales interact with an older and (at least slightly) wiser mentor in the form of Peter Parker. And while the movie puts a new spin on this meetup, the idea has been done before in the appropriately named series Spider-Men.
In the series, “our” Peter Parker is transported to the Ultimate universe. He teams up with Miles Morales to stop Mysterio but ends up going on a huge emotional journey when he finds out that he died in this universe and that Gwen Stacey is still alive. This is both a fun and moving tale, and it helped show the potential for Spider-people running into each other.
Obviously, most of the recommendations on this list are comics. And if that surprises you, check the name of the website, Bub! However, we’re making an exception with this next recommendation: the Miles Morales, Spider-Man novel by Jason Reynolds.
Until Into the Spider-Verse came out, this book was our single largest dive into the world of Miles Morales. You can learn more about his family, his powers, and his motivation in these pages. And it’s a Young Adult novel, which means it’s a quick read for grown-ups and also a great way to bring your kids into the world of the character.
We’ve got one last recommendation on this list. Many of the tales so far feature a different kind of Spider-Man in a different universe. But what if we had a very different kind of Spider-Man in our own universe? That’s the idea behind Superior Spider-Man.
In this series, a dying Doctor Octopus found a way to put his mind into Peter Parker’s body. Peter still lingers as a kind of conscience, though, and compels the former super-villain to prove that he can be a better Spider-Man than Parker ever could. Obviously, this character change wasn’t permanent, but it gave us some unforgettable story moments and costume designs.
So far, critics and fans alike seem to absolutely love Into the Spider-Verse. We’re hoping that this will kick off an entire series of big screen, big-budget adaptations of our favorite Marvel heroes. And if you do your homework by reading these comics, you’ll certainly be ready for the inevitable sequel!
Avengers 4 - Endgame Official Trailer
Avengers highly anticipated trailer aired, and as expected it left us with even more questions!
But, let's start with what it gave us. Firstly the title. "Avengers: Endgame".
Some people had already guessed it, as Dr. Strange uttered those words to Tony Stark after he surrendered the Time Stone to Thanos, in "Avengers: Infinity War", but now is official.
The trailer starts by showing us Tony Stark, drifting in space in a dead spaceship, not wearing his Iron Man suit, but using his damaged helmet to record a message for Pepper Potts. He is out of food, water and soon by oxygen. He sounds very calm, as if as he has come in terms with the unavoidable.
On Earth, Black Widow, Captain America, and Bruce Banner are at the Avengers headquarters estimating the result of Thanos acts, counting losses and planning a way to fix this.
Scott Lang’s picture appears on one screen marked as "missing," and T’Challa’s sister Shuri appears to the next one, followed by Peter Parker's.
We see Hawkeye, but with a dark and very different look from the one we are used to by now. His expression is one of a person who lost too much and has now changed. We also get a small glimpse of Thor, Nebula, and Thanos.
Scott Lang knocks at the door of Avengers headquarters asking Captain America to let him in after somehow, he managed to escape the quantum realm.
Is Iron Man and Nebula together in that spaceship? Is help coming?
What is the plan Captain America and Black Widow discuss about?
How did Scott Lang escape the quantum realm since Hank, Janet, and Hope disappeared after Thanos snapped his fingers?
There are many more questions, a lot of speculations and fan theories about the movie plot. I'd like to take this opportunity to share my thought (hope maybe?) on how the Ant-Man was able to escape the quantum realm.
Joe Russo had confirmed that Stan Lee was able to film his cameo in the movie before he passed away. I like to think that he will be the person who (probably by accident), helps Scott return to the real world.
The movie will be in theaters on April 26, and all of our questions will be answered that day!
Before the Release of Avengers 4 Trailer
On April 2018, Marvel Studios released the "Avengers: Infinity War" and left its fans unprepared for what was to come.
I distinctly remember the audience in the theatre seating still, waiting patiently for the closing credits to end so we can get our hopes up by watching the credit scene.
Spoilers are coming so if for some reason you haven't watched this movie yet, you might want to stop reading!
"Avengers: Infinity War" end, provided us with one info: "Thanos will return" (which I guess is good! We want him defeated!). Also left us with a hope that help might be on the way. Before Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) disappear, he sends a message to someone who we now know is "Captain Marvel".
By then, we have lost many of our beloved heroes. Some, like Loki and Gamora, died by the hand of Thanos and others disappeared along with half of the life on the universe after he collected all the Infinity Stones and snapped his fingers.
Marvel managed to keep its secrets for the plot of the upcoming Avengers movie, (even the title hasn’t been announced as to avoid spoilers) and the internet is full of theories.
Even though no official announcement has been made, according to The Disinsider the preview for Avengers 4 will be released later today.
Are any of our questions about the fate of our heroes will be answered? Or are we going to have even more, after the trailer?
That remains to be seen!
Captain Marvel Official Trailer - Carol Danvers Trailer 2.0
At the beginning of this week, Marvel presented its fans with an early Christmas present, by releasing the new trailer for the upcoming superhero movie “Captain Marvel”.
Set in the 1990s, Carol Danvers coming from a race of noble warriors called Kree, finds herself on Earth, fighting to end the war started by Skrulls, a shapeshifting race (the bad guys!).
Carol (Brie Larson), teams up with our rather familiar and quite younger from what we’re used to, Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) who still has two working eyes and whom she fills in about the situation.
A few things are revealed to us from the trailer. Carol has extreme superpowers, that among other things, allow her to fly into space and destroy spaceships, and even though we get a glimpse of the way she got them, we don’t know when and why.
While she is on Earth though, she discovers she has memories of this place (one of which is the knowledge to fly a fighting jet?).
More familiar faces come on stage as we get to see Ronan “the Accuser”(Lee Pace) and Korath ”the Pursuer” (Djimon Hounsou) Kree members, both first seen on “Guardians of the Galaxy” 2014 movie. Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), will also appear in the movie.
“Captain Marvel” has a very large and impressive cast. Along with the characters we have already met and mentioned before, we get to meet some new ones such as Mar-Vell (Jude Law), a Kree commander and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), the Skrull commander who leads the invasion on Earth.
Actress Annette Bening plays a mysterious character of which we don’t know the name or purpose yet.
This is the first female-led movie in the Marvel cinematic universe. If you wish to learn more about “Captain Marvel” and her journey you can read our article on her origin story here.
Marvel Studios' "Captain Marvel" will be in theatres on March 8, 2019!
James Gunn in Talks to Join DC for Suicide Squad 2
You ever heard the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure"?
Well in this situation it's exactly that. A few months back James Gunn was fired from Disney's "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise for some inappropriate tweeting he did a few years back that included mentions of rape and pedophilia. And even though he apologized and mentioned that he grew as a person since then, Disney made it absolutely clear that he will have nothing to do with the third "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie.
We all of course know and admire James Gunn's skills, love, and passion for his work and it comes to us with no surprise that a company such as DC would want to hire him for their upcoming movie "Suicide Squad 2" which will very possible, by knowing his previous work, will give a whole new look and feel to the production.
